About The Impax
Home > About The Impax

The Impax is a website that was created out of a multitude of desires and ideas that have come to me over the years. It is mainly a place for me to share my thoughts with the world but will also hopefully become the center of a new online community of my friends from around the world.

About Me
I was born May 31st, 1977 in San Fransisco. I spent time travelling with my mom while I was young around the states and in Mexico. My first language was Spanish. At about 10 I moved to the wonderful area of Nevada County within the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. I spent the remainder of my childhood there and grew up in a community of friendly and earth-conscious people. I also grew up next the wonderful South Yuba River. I have tried to stay involved with local social, political, and environmental issues as much as possible. In the fight for the safety of our future generations I have found that one must be active and aware, but even more importantly to smile and have FUN!

My Interests

Having Fun
Dancing! Partys! humor! I love anything that makes people smile and laugh. Its hard to beat laughing becuase your laughing becuase you've been laughing for a half hour and your stomach hurts! Having fun is the key to making the rest of your life work.

  • The Outdoors
I love to go outside and explore. I think it's very important to spend time outside to see what the world is really made of. I enjoy biking, hiking, tree-climbing, rock-skipping, discovery...

    Activism
I have taken several trips to protest the nevada test site in Mercury, Nevada, the home of the biggest nuclear testing grounds in the nation as well as a potential high-level nuclear waste dump. It is located in the heart of Western Shoshone land. I have also been to Big Mountain, Arizona to help fight the relocation and mining of the the Dineh' peoples' land. You can find links to info on these issues on my links page.

    Community Involvment
Think globally, act locally. The framework for a healthy world rests in the bonds of the individuals.

    Traveling
I enjoy talking with people who have gone travelling. I regard travelling as one of the most valuable learning experiences available. You never know whats going to happen to you when your travelling! This website will serve as a journal for my experiences abroad including many photos from my digital camera.

    Computers
I also spend a lot of time on computers, gaming, surfing, programming and troubleshooting. I have been self-employed in the computer realm for over 5 years doing everything from building computers to designing computer networks. Currently I am involved in internet database work and E-commerce. Checkout the work section of The Impax.

    Occult studies
Theres alot to learn out there, there is also alot of crap. I've found that there are many techniques that work for me. Work for what you may ask? Relaxation, reflection, realization, enjoyment, exploration, exitement, stability, ... I'm not sure this list ever ends...

    Herbalism
I like to study plants and their ablility to heal the human body. For thousands of years indigenous people all over the world have relied on that which right around them for medicine. I spend alot of time outside identifying plants and trying to put them to good use. I hope to put an informational herb page up here soon.

    Footbag
The sport of footbag is very small now but has seen a huge explosion in the last 10 years. I have been playing hacky-sack all my life, and have played freestyle for the last 2 years. I have found the people involved in the footbag community to be some of the coolest and nicest of all people. And they sure know how to party! Footbag tournaments are a great place to make new friends and improve your footbag game. Me and my best friend Lon Smith (who is one of the best footbag freestylers in the world) have also created Footbag 4-Square which has become a popular and fun game for all footbag players around the world!
